The United States Department of Agriculture Foreign Agricultural Service (USDA FAS) is recruiting FY2018 Cochran Fellowship participants from Burkina Faso’s Hotel, Restaurant and Institution (HRI) sector. Ideally, we are looking for hotel/restaurant chefs or managers in charge of menu selection or ingredient purchasing. The hope is that after a two- to three-week training in the United States, these actors will work to source U.S. ingredients through the linkages and knowledge they will have formed.
The program will pay for lodging, per diem, and internal transportation, but will not pay for the international tickets to get to the United States, so participants or their establishments have to be willing and able to cover that cost.
English proficiency is not a requirement; however, English speakers will be prioritized over candidates with no English proficiency.
Please see the attached application form. The submission deadline is January 15, 2018.
Send questions and applications to our public mailbox, AgDakar@fas.usda.gov, and not to U.S. Embassy in Ouagadougou. Applications received by the U.S. Embassy in Ouagadougou will not be forwarded.
