On Thursday, February 25, the U.S. Embassy hosted a video conference on the theme, “Civic Engagement” organized by the American Library. For many, it certainly was a rich debate moment. The speaker, Lex Paulson, is an expert on issues related to democratic engagement and accountable governments and spoke about the importance of democracy. He gave advice on how the people could ensure the sustainability of democracy after the elections, welcomed because of its relevancy to the current political situation in Burkina Faso. The program brought together several leaders of different Civil Society Organizations (CSO), volunteers, and students.
