On February 4-6, 2015, Ambassador Tulinabo Mushingi travelled to Bobo Dioulasso to preside over a military equipment handover ceremony. He donated military equipment including trucks and ambulances worth $1,75 million to the Counter Terrorism Company of the 25th Parachutist Commando Regiment meant to support Burkina Faso’s Counterterrorism Strategy, « Mission de Sécurisation du Nord » and help eliminate the possibility of terrorist activities along Burkina Faso’s borders. These vehicles are a gift from the American people to the Burkinabe people to help ensure the integrity of Burkina Faso borders and the safety of the troops that are responsible for the defense of your nation. In addition to the equipment, the Burkinabé received a training by American experts.
Military cooperation between the United States and Burkina Faso is excellent, and a vital part of our bilateral relationship. Through cooperative efforts such as this, we work towards our shared goal of peace, stability, and prosperity for all Africans.
