Ambassador Andrew Young donated 42,000 USD (25 million CFA) of film projection and other equipment to the Panafrican Film and Television Festival of Ouagadougou (FESPACO).
The donation is a symbol of U.S. commitment to an enduring relationship with Burkina Faso/ “Your festival is not only a contribution to world cinema, it is an essential part of your country’s contribution and cultural development, particularly in light of current challenges,” said Ambassador Young to journalists.
The equipment will be used as part of FESPACO’s efforts to engage new Burkinabe audiences with film and train the next generation of filmmakers.
