As part of its support for the November elections, the U.S. Embassy in Ouagadougou provided the National Television (RTB) with operating equipment worth more than $28,000. This grant is the result of a project supporting media in its coverage of the November 2015 elections initiated jointly by RTB and the Embassy’s Public Diplomacy Section. During the November 6 ceremony, Ambassador Mushingi acknowledged the hard and fabulous work of RTB in recent weeks despite its lack of equipment. The Director of RTB thanked the Embassy and said, “This equipment comes at the right time and will allow us to better cover the elections campaigns.” Worth $28.713.69 (approximately 18 million CFA), the equipment is composed of MacBook Pro computers, memory cards, cameras, compact cases for cameras, headphones, and cables.
