The United States condemns the February 17 attack in Pansy, Yagha province
February 18, 2020

The United States condemns the February 17 brutal attack and murder of Burkinabe citizens in Pansy, Yagha province.  Victims of this vile assault included both members of Christian and Islamic communities.  Extremists continue to indiscriminately target civilians, using violence and fear to undermine Burkina Faso’s longstanding traditions of social and religious tolerance.  The United States remains steadfast in our support of Burkina Faso and offers our condolences to the families of the victims of this senseless attack.
