Ambassador Tulinabo Mushingi presided over the signing ceremony of the USAID Inter State Committee to Fight Drought in the Sahel (ISCFDS) support to ECOWAS on April 7 In Ouagadougou.  The funding amounts to $3.6 million (approx. 2.08 billion CFA Francs) and is designed to allow the ISCFDS to support ECOWAS projects and strengthen governance capacity in the region. The United States, as a major player in the sub-region, grants this funding through USAID to ISCFDS with the goal of strengthening foundations of good governance and the improvement of food security, nutrition, and the resilience of the Sahel populations.
