Please note that U.S. Citizen Services fees, when made in local currency, may vary due to the fluctuating exchange rate. As a result of the current value of the dollar, the African Financial Community (CFA) rate is currently 700 francs to one U.S. dollar.
The U.S. Embassy is located in Ouagadougou on Avenue Sembène Ousmane, Ouaga 2000, Secteur 15 near the Ministry of Agriculture and southeast of the Memorial aux Heros Nationaux. The Consular Section entrance is on the west side of the building.
The Embassy is open from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Friday. Appointments for non-emergency services to U.S. citizens are available between 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. on Mondays and Thursdays. The Embassy is closed on certain local and American holidays.
