Security Alert – U.S. Embassy Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso – July 9, 2019

Event: The U.S. Embassy reminds U.S. citizens that terrorists and criminal groups continue plotting attacks in Burkina Faso and actively seek to kidnap expatriates.
On Tuesday, July 9, Burkina Faso’s National Police in the Saaba Commune reportedly dismantled two criminal networks and thwarted an attempted kidnapping in Ouaga 2000. The National Police claimed the intended target was an expatriate.
