As part of its periodic film series, the Embassy hosted filmmaker Seidou Samba Toure, director of the short documentary, “L’espoir du lampadaire” (or “Finding Hope Under the Streetlights”). The film is Toure’s third overall and focuses on high school and college students who study outside under streetlights due to lack of indoor lighting at home and at school. His goal with this film is to shed some light on the challenges students face in preparing for homework and exams. Following the film, Toure and his producer responded to questions from the audience.
