On Thursday, May 12, 2016, the U.S. Embassy in Ouagadougou offered a training session for journalists on reporting during crises and press freedom. Elisabeth Bryant, an American journalist participating via DVC from Paris, shared her knowledge and experience with moderation from superstar intern Andrew. The debates focused on the realities faced by journalists confronted with new challenges such as extremism and terrorism. Drawing from her experience in these areas, Ms. Bryant exhorted the participants to be impartial and careful in order to provide quality work.
