Passport Renewal for Adults (Age 16 and Older)

You may renew a current U.S. passport if all of the following are true:

  1. Your most recent passport is undamaged and can be submitted with your application; and
  2. Your most recent passport was issued within the last 15 years; and
  3. You were age 16 or older when your most recent passport was issued; and
  4. Your most recent passport was issued in the exact same name as your previous passport, or you can legally document your name change with an original or certified copy of your marriage certificate or the government-issued document evidencing your legal name change under federal or state law.

This service is available by appointment only.  Appointments must be made online at the State Department’s Appointment System webpage.  Payments are made at the time of appointment using cash or credit card.  We do not accept checks.
