Emergency Message for U.S. Citizens

Embassy Ouagadougou received reports from the police that a security event had occurred in Zone du Bois in Ouagadougou. Police reports are now indicating that the incident has been contained. The embassy has lifted its shelter in place requirement for embassy personnel. We encourage U.S. citizens to avoid the area near MACO in Zone du Bois.
