
On Friday, April 23, 2016, U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Democracy, Human Rights and Labor Steven Feldstein visited the Centre Norbert Zongo in Ouagadougou, established in 1998. He met there with various stakeholders, including the press and human rights defense associations. Key concerns were raised by the latter, especially in terms of justice, corruption, and access to food. The Deputy Assistant Secretary noted the various concerns and urged actors to continue their peaceful activities to promote democracy and respect for human rights.
