Five Mandela Washington Fellows (YALI alumni) met with Assistant Secretary of State Linda Thomas-Greenfield and AFRICOM Commander General David M. Rodriguez during a reception held in Ambassador Tulinabo Mushingi’s Residence. It was a joyful reunion for Ambassador Thomas-Greenfield and the Fellows following their first meeting in Washington last summer. The Assistant Secretary gave remarks in which she highlighted the importance of the role of these young leaders in the development of their communities and encouraged their elder leaders in attendance to guide and coach them.
