Ambassador T. Mushingi presided over the ceremony marking the first anniversary of the American Language Center transferred last year at the University Aube Nouvelle in Ouagadougou, through a partnership agreement between the United States Embassy and the University Aube Nouvelle. The American Language Center was opened in 1985 in Ouagadougou with only 151 students and offering a fairly standard English courses and has developed over the years to become a center of reference reaching students and professionals for high quality training in English language. The transfer to the University Aube Nouvelle aims first to provide a new dynamic with more classrooms, better technology and an invigorated teacher staff. On the other hand, it responds to the U.S. Embassy policy to promote public-private partnership to address teachings challenges.
This celebration which was attended by the Burkina Faso Minister of Communication has been an opportunity for Ambassador Mushingi to congratulate Mr. Isidore Kini, President of University Aube Nouvelle and his administration, the Director of the American Language Center Aboubakar Ouédraogo and his entire team, especially the American Language Center teachers.
