U.S. Ambassador Andrew Young and representatives from the U.S. Millennium Challenge Corporation met with Burkina Faso’s President Roch Marc Christian Kaboré to advance talks towards a new MCC Compact for Burkina Faso. The second compact is expected to bring $350 million in U.S investment for development of Burkina Faso’s energy infrastructure. The MCC’s work is one part of U.S. efforts to develop an enduring relationship with the Burkinabe people. The United States’ engagement is more than a set of projects that will benefit a limited few, but an evolving partnership.
