Ambassador Tulinabo S. Mushingi traveled to Yamtenga on the outskirts of Ouagadougou to visit the local iDE (International Development Enterprise) Technology Center. iDE is an American NGO that, among its many initiatives, develops and provides affordable drip irrigation kits. Just a week before the Paris COP21 summit, the event aimed to showcase accessible climate change-resilient technology for small farmers.
The visit began with a guided tour of the center featuring solar-powered drip irrigation moto pumps and an experimental sanitary project. After the tour, iDE staff facilitated a group discussion among attendees, which included climate change civil society organizations, entrepreneurs, Young African Leaders Initiative alumni, and pioneers in the use of iDE kits. The Ambassador gave a speech in which he urged all to do their part in combatting climate change.
