On the morning of October 21, 2013, Ambassador Mushingi made his first visit to the Millennium Challenge Account (MCA) offices at the Barack Obama Building to meet the MCA Senior Management and staff and offer words of encouragement as the Compact heads into its final 9 months of implementation.  Led by National Coordinator, Bissiri Sirima, and accompanied by Resident Country Director of the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC), Kateri Clement, and USAID representative Jim Parys, the Ambassador met with the MCA team to discuss progress on the Compact, pressing challenges, and anticipated results.

During the meeting, Ambassador Mushingi shared the points of interest of the United States Government particular to MCC, including the importance of country-led development, results-focused projects, transparency at all levels of operations, and long-term impacts that capacity building of the Compact will have starting with the MCA team and extending throughout Burkina Faso.  To close the meeting, Kateri Clement reiterated the ambitious nature and scope of the Compact before noting the enormous amount of passion and commitment shown by the MCA staff, led by Bissiri Sirima, as well as the work remaining before the Compact closes on July 31, 2014.
