On February 23, 2016, U.S. Ambassador Tulinabo Mushingi and Embassy staff visited the site of the January 15 terrorist attacks where he proceeded to lead a moment of silence for the victims. They later sat down at “Taxi Brousse” to have a symbolic drink in order to show that for the United States, Burkina is still a country with a vibrant culture, undeterred by the attacks. The Ambassador also wanted to measure the return to normalcy around Kwame Nkrumah Avenue where he visited several shops located next to Cappuccino to talk to shop owners and ordinary Burkinabe.
