Ambassador Tulinabo Mushingi spoke of the importance of supporting entrepreneurs at a February 10th event co-organized by the Embassy, the Maison de l’Entreprise and the Embassy of Morocco to Burkina Faso. “Small-business owners and their forward-thinking ideas are the engine of a dynamic economy,” he said. Many of Burkina Faso’s best and brightest are starting their own businesses, helping their fellow citizens by creating jobs and investing in the country’s development.
Also at the event, two Burkinabe entrepreneurs shared their experience at the 2014 Global Entrepreneurship Summit, held in November in Marrakech, Morocco. They urged fellow business owners to make plans to attend the 2015 edition, to receive training on ideas to grow their businesses, to fund-raise with potential investors, and to network with other entrepreneurs. Finally, attendees at the event received training in crowdsourcing and crowdfunding: techniques that use modern communication tools to attract financing, ideas, and expertise.
