Ambassador Mushingi led a U.S. Embassy delegation to Ouahigouya for an event-filled “American Road Show” on October 6. Accompanied for part of the day by the Minister of Higher Education, the Ambassador participated in a handover ceremony of a three-room school building and visited an agricultural intensification project, both of which are funded by USAID. He also participated in a YALI information session, had lunch with U.S. Peace Corps volunteers, visited an orphanage, and paid a courtesy visit to the regional governor. In his remarks at the morning school handover ceremony, the Ambassador said, “The opening of these classrooms is only the beginning of the work we all must do to ensure that the young people who come here learn to make just decisions that help build up and not destroy.”
