Ambassador Tulinabo Mushingi was a featured speaker at a conference hosted by L’Université Saint Thomas d’Aquin on Thursday, January 21, 2016. His remarks focused on language, culture and development.
After observing a moment of silence in memory of the victims of the deadly attacks of last Friday, the Ambassador addressed the audience, composed mostly of the university’s students. During a half-hour discussion, he touched on sociolinguistics: the importance of language within a society and values within it. The Ambassador said, “language has power” and that Burkinabe must “build on their culture to be useful to the nation.”
Also present at the conference were Cardinal Philippe Ouedraogo, Severin Rouamba PCA USTA, and the State Secretary in charge of Scientific Research and Innovation.
