
The first of four alumni networking events hosted jointly by the alumni group and the Public Affairs Section was held on Thursday, February 25. The event was based around countering violent extremism, keynoted by a panel of alumni such as Abdoulaye Diallo, Daouda Zalle, Hawa Bissiri, Mathieu Bere, and renowned theologian Ilboudo Khalid. They shared their experience and knowledge to the attendees through short documentaries, music clips, and speeches on the topic. Highlighted also was one alumnus from the Congo who was in attendance. Also, in observance of black history month, a poem by Maya Angelou was read. Before closing the meeting, the Public Affairs Officer, Ms. Brenda Soya, reminded the members of the audience the necessity and the importance of working together, a key for a stronger partnership.
