2017 YALI Mandela Washington Fellowship Debriefing Showcases Burkinabe Youth Transforming Communities

The U.S. Embassy‘s Public Affairs Section organized a debriefing session for the FY 2017 YALI Mandela Washington Fellowship participants in the Information Resource Center at the Embassy. The group was inspired by Ambassador Andrew Young’s call for action, encouraging Fellows to share their newly acquired skills and knowledge gained during their fellowship to positively impact their communities. The debriefing session was an opportunity for the Public Affairs Section to engage in a lively exchange with program beneficiaries to learn about their experiences, exchange ideas, and share future project proposals.

After spending six weeks in prestigious universities in the United States, these young leaders are back, and have already launched projects in the fields of energy, health, mining, water, sanitation, education, fashion, and good governance.
