On September 25, 2014, one hundred and fifty English Access Microscholarship Program students celebrated the completion of their courses in a ceremony in Ouagadougou. These students completed 378 hours of English courses and enhancement activities during a two-year program.  The following schools hosted the 2012-2014 Access Program:  Lycée Marien N’Gouabi, Lycée Privé Bayane, Lycée Nelson Mandela, Lycée Song-taaba, Lycée Benaja, and Lycée Mixte de Gounghin.  Embassy staff attended the ceremony organized by the American Language Center and presented certificates of completion to all the students. Parents and host school officials were in attendance to celebrate these students’ impressive accomplishments.  The English Access Microscholarship Program is the largest and most successful program of the United States Embassy for engaging and developing capacities of Burkinabe youth through English teaching and educational, cultural, and personal development activities. Burkina Faso now counts 810 students who have completed the Access Program over the past 10 years.
